Charles Emery Ross
Charles Emery Ross (1938–2022) was an American painter and celebrated colorist known for contemporary and abstract works that invite viewers into a sense of place and discovery. A graduate of Cincinnati’s Central Academy of Commercial Art, he transitioned from a career in advertising to painting full-time at the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati, with award-winning work held in private and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad.

Charles Emery Ross (1938–2022) was an American painter and celebrated colorist whose work ranged from contemporary to nonobjective abstraction. After a career in advertising, including roles from art director to television producer, he transitioned to painting full time with a strong design sensibility and a deep commitment to color. Working from his studio at the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati, Ross developed paintings that treat each canvas as a journey, inviting viewers into mood, movement, and discovery.
