Charles Emery Ross

Charles Emery Ross (1938–2022) was an American painter and celebrated colorist whose work ranged from contemporary to nonobjective abstraction. After a career in advertising, including roles from art director to television producer, he transitioned to painting full time with a strong design sensibility and a deep commitment to color. 

Working from his studio at the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati, Ross developed paintings that treat each canvas as a journey, inviting viewers into mood, movement, and discovery. His work has been exhibited widely and is held in corporate and private collections in the U.S. and abroad. ×
