ARTWORK & PRINT SIZING

Aspect Ratio Calculator

Find proportional print dimensions without stretching or distorting your artwork. Enter the original size, then adjust the scaled size below.

Instructions:

Enter the original width (W₁) and height (H₁) on the left. Then enter either a new width (W₂) or height (H₂) on the right to calculate the remaining value.

Use any unit, but keep it consistent. Uploaded image dimensions are in pixels. Change any value at any time or select Reset values to start over.

WHAT IS AN ASPECT RATIO?

Aspect ratio is the relationship between an image’s width and height. It describes proportion, not physical size. For example, 12 × 16 and 18 × 24 share a 3:4 aspect ratio, so they have the same shape.

WHY ASPECT RATIO MATTERS

Resizing artwork proportionally prevents stretching and distortion. If your desired print size has a different aspect ratio, the image may need to be cropped or printed with borders.

BEFORE YOU PRINT

This calculator determines proportional dimensions only. It does not evaluate image resolution or account for printing, bleed, matting, or framing requirements. Confirm final specifications with your printer or framer.
