Artist Biography +
Richell Castellon is a Cuban-born Impressionist artist based in the United States, known for loose, energetic painting rooted in observation and light. He completed formal art education in Cuba, earned early recognition, and continued exhibiting in group and solo contexts before relocating. That training gives his work structure under the looseness. Now working in Upstate New York, he paints scenes ranging from Cuba to Syracuse-area streets and regional landscapes. His focus stays on overall impact: light, movement, and the way a scene feels rather than perfect detail. His work has been featured in editorial publications including The Good Life Central New York Magazine (2020) and Lake Affect Magazine (2023). ×
