Noah Desmond

Noah Desmond (American, born 1969) is an oil painter known for landscapes and florals that sit right on the edge of abstraction. He builds his paintings through layered color and active surface, using both brush and palette knife to create movement and depth while keeping the underlying structure clear. The work is nature-driven, but it’s not “literal scenery”, it’s built around the feeling of light, season, and the energy of a place.

Desmond earned his BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and continued training through the Chicago Institute of Decorative Finishing and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. His early career included regional awards and scholarships, and his paintings have been placed in both private and corporate collections. Today his studio practice stays consistent: bold color relationships, controlled composition, and a surface that reads cleanly from across a room and rewards close viewing through texture and layered paint. ×
