Santa Fe–based artist Yenny Cocq is known for refining figures into clean, almost geometric forms while preserving the gestures and body language that give them emotional character. Her understated aesthetic was shaped in part by the years she spent operating a studio and gallery in Copenhagen, where Scandinavian design left a lasting influence on her work.

Cocq begins her sculptures in clay, wax, or metal before they are reproduced in bronze through the traditional lost-wax casting process. This edition of Grooming Cat is cast in fine-art bronze and finished with luminous silver plating, giving the compact sculpture a substantial feel and a brilliant, mirror-like surface.
