The Narrows of Lake George

Dave Ostrowski is an American landscape painter whose work is shaped by a musician’s understanding of rhythm, harmony, and structure. He began painting landscapes in 1990 after graduating from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Composition, and he quickly recognized that the principles of musical composition translated naturally to painting.

After returning to a more dedicated studio practice in the 2010s and embracing plein air painting, Ostrowski developed a focused body of work rooted in direct observation and New England atmosphere. His paintings are collected for their calm energy, strong composition, and a lyrical sense of place.
