Zu Sheng Yu is a China-born contemporary artist trained at the Guang Zhou Academy of Fine Arts, with a professional background that includes serving as a professor of art at Zhong Kai University. He developed recognition in China through exhibitions and media features before relocating to the United States, where he continued exhibiting and receiving awards tied to major art exposition contexts.

In addition to his studio practice, Zu Sheng Yu is also an inventor and holds a U.S. patent for a method of representing musical compositions using variable colors and shades.
