Jordan Flower is an American painter known for atmospheric landscapes shaped by a life of constant movement. Raised in a military home, he lived among distinct environments, from upstate New York’s mountains and lakes to coastal New England and large cities, and that shifting geography became part of his visual language. He is especially interested in the meeting point of man-made and natural elements, and how light, both natural and artificial, transforms the mood of a place. His work often feels like a memory anchored by architecture, shoreline, or a road line that pulls the eye forward.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s art program, Flower has also spent over a decade as an art teacher in Henrico County. That combination of practice and instruction supports a steady, disciplined approach to painting, where composition and color are intentional rather than accidental. His work is exhibited regionally and collected for its balance of structure and atmosphere. Whether the scene is quiet and rural or built and busy, the throughline remains the same: light as the engine, and place as a lived experience.
